Daniel Keyes (August 9, 1927 – June 15, 2014) was an American news editor who co-authored the novel Flowers for Algernon. Keyes was honoured by the Honorable Emeritus by the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America in 2000. He attended New York University shortly before joining the United States Maritime Service at the age of 17, completing as a boat investigator for major oil exporters.
